Vision Intelligence and Data Laboratory (VIDLab) at Lakehead University focuses on the research and development of efficient intelligent solutions for practical problems using computer vision, image processing, deep learning, machine learning, large data analytics and advanced optimization techniques.
The lab is led by a team of three accomplished faculty members: Dr. Akilan, T., Dr. Deng, Y., and Dr. Bajwa, G. Together, they combine their complementary expertise in image/video processing and object detection, network optimization and coded caching, and machine learning with data-driven solutions to drive innovative research across multiple application domains including intelligent transportation, healthcare, medical diagnosis, and precision agriculture.
